As a Grassroots Dyslexia advocacy group in all 50 states, Decoding Dyslexia hears stories from across the US of families struggling under the way dyslexia is acknowledged and served under IDEA. To help inform effective policy and give a voice to parents and students, this survey delivers Randomized Sample Results from over 1,300 respondents, derived from an online questionnaire comprised of parents with at least one Dyslexic child in a US school. Survey taken May through June 2018.
Dyslexia is currently listed under Specific Learning Disability (SLD) in the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA) - which gives parents considerable rights to work collaboratively with their school, but only if those rights are acknowledged - Can we do Better? Yes!
